How To: Running a Locator Item Inquiry (RF-04-08)

Overview

The selection is used to view all locations, quantities, and statuses for a single item using an RF scanner.

Step-by-Step

  1. In the ‘Item #’ field, scan the item for which you want to run the inquiry.

  1. The item’s locator number, quantity, and status appear.

    An item’s status can be one of the following:

    Description

    Boxed
    An item with this status is available for sale.

    Floor
    An item with this status is available for sale as a floor model item. To sell an item with this status, you must first select ‘Floor’ from the ‘Type’ drop-down list on the POS Entry Detail tab.

    Damaged
    An item with this status is available for sale as a floor model item. To sell an item with this status, you must first select ‘Floor’ from the ‘Type’ drop-down list on the POS Entry Detail tab.

    Others
    This status is used when you want to know where an item is, but you don’t want it available for sale.

    Misc
    This status is used when you want to know where an item is, but you don’t want it available for sale.

    The ‘Other’ and ‘Miscellaneous’ statuses are basically the same. Both should be used for your company specific purposes.

    Lost
    This status is used to designate any quantities of the item that have been placed in a non-specific place. Items with this status are not available for sale.

    Commtd
    This status is automatically assigned by Order Processing to an item that is committed to a specific customer order. It cannot be modified.

    Reservd
    This status is automatically assigned to an item that is reserved for a customer order that has not yet been entered POS Entry. These types of items are maintained in the Reservation of Item selection (03-38-04).

    Transfr
    This status is automatically assigned by Inventory Transfers to an item in the process of being transferred. It cannot be modified.
