How To: Accepting a Quote (RQ)

Overview

You can easily turn a Quote Ticket into a normal sales transaction (TW, DD, SO) to allow the customer to purchase the quoted merchandise. This tutorial describes that process.

Step-by-Step

Scenario: A customer wants to purchase all merchandise on a Quote Ticket that was created for them last week.

  1. Select ‘RQ–Maint/Accept Quote’ from the Type of Sale drop-down menu.

  1. Enter the Quote Number or use the Search button to find the customer’s quote.

  1. Click OK.

  1. The Release Quote window appears. First, select the type of transaction you want to convert the quote to. The default setting is Delayed Delivery (DD).

  1. Click the Accept button.

  1. The ticket appears. In this example, notice that ‘DD-To be Delivered’ appears in the Type of Sale field, meaning that the Quote Ticket has been converted to a Delayed Delivery ticket.
    • The transaction has the same Order Number as the original Quote Ticket.

  1. Verify that the transaction information is correct, and make any changes if necessary.
    • If you are converting the Quote Ticket into a Delayed Delivery (DD) transaction, you will need to enter a Delivery Date and click Accept.

  1. When you are finished, click the Done button. Complete the transaction using standard procedures.
