Warranty File Build Overview (07-11)

Overview

The Tyler Warranty File Build selections are used to create warranty claims files that are required by the following companies for electronic submission:

  • Service Bench (07-11-11)
  • Service Power (07-11-13)

Certain brands are associated with each company:*

  • Electrolux/Frigidaire

Setup Requirements

The following must be completed before running any of the above selections:

  1. Access Warranty A/R Acct Maint (07-25) and set up the Warranty A/R accounts required for the file build selections you will be using.
    1. In the ‘Form Type’ field, make sure to enter the appropriate code:

    3. If required, enter a code in the ‘Check’ field. Currently, you only need to enter a check code (“F”) when setting up a Frigidaire/Electrolux warranty account. No check codes are required for any other accounts.

  1. In the Labor/Narda codes selection (07-24), verify that all product types being used on work orders are set up.

  1. Access the Defect Codes selection (07-26) and verify that all defect codes being used on work orders are set up.

  1. In the Repair Codes selection (07-20), verify that all repair codes being used on work orders are set up.

  1. Set up the Transmission Destination Code file in the Trans Dest Specification selection (34-13-20).

Additional Steps for Narda users:

If you are using Narda, you also need to complete the following steps:

  1. Access Work Order Preferences (07-90-01) and click the General tab. Select ‘Narda’ from the ‘Client Type’ drop-down list.

  1. To use the Warranty File Build selections (for electronics and/or appliances), Narda numbers must be auto-generated. In the Narda Preferences (07-90-02) selection, enter ‘Y’ in one or both of the following fields:
    • ‘Autogenerate Electronic Narda #’s?’
    • ‘Autogenerate Appliance Narda #’s?’

Errors & Messages

The Errors & Messages are the same for all Warranty File Build selections.

Narda# must be autogenerated – Set up in Narda Pre-Prompts.
Displays when Narda numbers (for electronics and/or appliances) are not set up to auto-generate.

In the Narda Preferences (07-90-02) selection, enter ‘Y’ in one or both of the following fields:

  • ‘Autogenerate Electronic Narda #’s?’
  • ‘Autogenerate Appliance Narda #’s?’

Bad Narda# range in B/O 90.
Display when the Narda number range has an invalid structure. Run Narda Preferences (07-90-02) to examine and correct the range entry.

System will autogenerate Narda #’s
Enter “Y” and NARDA Numbers will be assigned from the range set up in Narda Preferences (07-90-02).

Only xxx remaining Narda #’s (No Backup Range)
This warning displays when there are only a small number of remaining Narda numbers and no backup range has been set up.

Enter “Y” to continue with the file build. If the program runs out of Narda Numbers, it will suspend the file build and allow you to run Narda Preferences (07-90-02) from another terminal to enter a new range and restart the file build.

Print will shift to Backup Narda Range after remaining xxx ‘s are exhausted
This warning displays to inform you that backup Narda numbers will be used after the remaining regular Narda numbers are used.

Enter “Y” to continue with file build.

File build cannot be run at this time
Displays when the file build is being run in another partition. Wait until that partition is finished before continuing.

Warranty file exists and has not been successfully transmitted.
Unable to rebuild at this time.
Displays when an existing warranty file is waiting for transmission or there was a problem with transmission.

Run the Com Job Listing Status selection (34-13-01) to analyze the situation.

Missing or invalid defect or repair code(s) have been found on workorders selected for transmission. Print defect/repair code worksheet and add missing codes to workorder or defect/repair code file before continuing – Select Printer
Displays when the program finds repair and/or defect codes on eligible work orders that are not set up in Repair Codes (07-20) or Defect Codes (07-26).

Enter the ID of a physical printer or spooler in this field to print the ‘Missing Defect/Repair Code Worksheet, ‘ which lists all of the defect and/or repair codes found on eligible work orders that are not set up in the system.

Once the missing codes are set up, re-run the file build.

Narda number autogenerate range is exhausted – enter new range at this time to continue
Displays when there are not enough Narda numbers in the range for the file build.

Run Narda Preferences (07-90-02) from another terminal and enter a new range. Then return to this terminal and press the Tab key. The file build will continue.

If a new number range is not available, enter “E” and only those Narda numbers that were already assigned by the program will be processed and updated.

No workorders available for claims transmission
Displays when there are no work orders eligible for the file build.

Product types which are not set-up with a Narda code have been found on warranty lines selected for xmit. Print Narda code worksheet and add product types to Narda codes before continuing – Select Printer
Displays when the program finds product types on eligible work orders that are not set up in Labor/Narda Codes (07-24).

Enter the ID of a physical printer or spooler in this field to print the ‘Narda Code Worksheet, ‘ which lists all of the product types found on eligible work orders that are not set up in the system.

Once the missing codes are set up, re-run the file build.

Service Dept Warranty Number Update – In progress – Please wait
Set-up Trans Dest Specifications in IT Com Channel before proceeding
Displays when a Transmission Destination Code is not set up in Trans Destination Code (34-13-20).

Warranty account numbers which are not set up in A/R Master have been found on workorders selected for xmit. Print worksheet and add A/R accounts in A/R Master Entry/Maintenance before continuing with file build – Select Printer
Displays when the program finds A/R Accounts on eligible work orders that are not set up in A/R Master (12-20).

Enter the ID of a physical printer or spooler in this field to print the ‘Missing Warranty Acct Worksheet’ which lists all of the A/R accounts found on eligible work orders that are not set up in the system.

Once the missing codes are set up, re-run the file build.
