Service Bench Warranty: Change in Whirlpool Submission
Format (07-11-11)
Effective Monday May 16, 2016, submitted Whirlpool warranties will require additional information about each Tech that is added to a Work Order labor line.
What You Need to Do
Complete the following steps for each Tech to ensure that warranties are properly submitted:
- Access Employee Master Maintenance (10-20)
- In the ‘Legal Name’ field (Field 2), enter the Tech’s last name followed by a comma, a space, and the Tech’s first name. (e.g. Smith, John).
- Enter the Tech’s Social Security Number, with dashes, in the ‘Soc Sec #’ field (Field 9).
- Access Employee Special Maintenance (10-21).
- In the ‘Date of Birth’ field, enter the Tech’s birthdate in MMDDYY format.
Other Notes
- The warranty submission will now include the Tech ID, followed by the first four letters of the last name, the letter A for Appliances, or E for Electronics, the birth month, the birth day, and finally the last four digits of the Social Security Number.
- The EIA# will be copied for each line as required.
- The customers’ email address from the work order is also stored, but not required.
