How To: Creating the File (02-08-12-10)
Overview
This tutorial describes how to create the file that will be sent to a third party routing company.
Step-by-Step
- Click the folder button to the right of the ‘Output Directory’ field.
- Specify the folder where the created file will be saved/downloaded.
IMPORTANT: The path to the file must be 52 characters or less or the file will not export to the correct folder. For example, use ‘C:\tyler_to_third_party’ instead of something like ‘C:\Documents and Settings\User1\My Documents\tyler_to_third_party).
- The name of the file appears in the ‘Output File’ field. Change it if necessary.
- Enter the delivery date range for the file in the ‘Starting delivery date’ and ‘Ending delivery date’ fields. Orders on or after the starting delivery date and on or before the ending delivery date will be included in the file.
- In the ‘Status to Select’ field, check the order statuses that you want to include in the file. For example, if you only want to include Open Orders (Status 0) and orders for which the Picking/Packing Sheets have been printed (Status 1), you would check the ‘0 Open’ and ‘1 Picked’ boxes, respectively.
- Orders can be selected for the file by Route, Consolidated Schedule or both. In the ‘Send Orders by’ field, click the radio button next to the option that you want to use.
- To include orders for all routes, leave the ‘Route Range From and To’ fields blank. To export orders for only certain routes, enter a route range in these fields.
NOTE: This preference only applies if ‘Route’ or ‘Both’ was selected in the ‘Send Orders by’ field.
- To include orders for all consolidated schedules, leave the ‘Consolidated Range From and To’ fields blank. To export orders for only certain consolidated schedules, enter a consolidated schedule range in these fields.
NOTE: This preference only applies if ‘Cons’ or ‘Both’ was selected in the ‘Send Orders by’ field.
- Click OK. The file is created and downloaded to the specified folder on your computer. You will then send this file to the third party routing company based on their specifications (email, FTP, etc.).
