How To: Running the Daily Sales Report (05-10-01)

Overview

This selection is used to view daily sales transaction totals by salesperson or branch for a specified date range. You can view a detailed daily analysis of sales or a month-to-date summary analysis.

You can view the information on the screen, print a paper copy, or open it directly in Excel.

Step-by-Step

  1. From the ‘Region’ drop-down menu, select a region for the report. Select ‘All’ to include data from all regions on the report.

  1. From the ‘Store’ drop-down menu, select a store for the report. Select ‘All’ to include data from all stores on the report.

  1. From the ‘SlsPer’ drop-down menu, select a salesperson for the report. Select ‘All’ to include data from all salespeople on the report.

  1. In the ‘From’ and ‘To’ fields, enter a date range for the report or select it from the calendar.

  1. Check the ‘Exclude Non-Inventory Items’ box and Non-Inventory Product Type items will not be included in the sales figures.
    NOTE: Items designated as Warranty Items will be included in the sales figures regardless if the box is checked.

  1. Specify whether the report should include ‘Written’ or ‘Delivered’ sales.

  1. Select the ‘Unit Cost’ radio button to base gross margins and variances on the Unit Cost. Select the ‘Vendor Price’ button to base these figures on the Vendor Price.

  1. Select the ‘By Salesman’ radio button to view the report by salesman. Select the ‘By Branch’ radio button to view the report by branch.

  1. Click ‘Refresh’ and the report results appear.
    • Any time you change the report criteria, you will need to click Refresh to update the report results.

  1. The detailed daily analysis view appears by default. Click the ‘Summary’ tab to display a month-to-date summary of sales transactions.

  1. Click ‘Export Excel’ (optional) to view the report in Excel.

  1. Click ‘Print’ to print a paper copy of the report (optional). At the prompt, enter the ID of a physical printer or spooler, or enter “PDF” to save the report to a PDF file. If printing to a PDF, accept the pre-prompted save location on your computer, or enter a new one.
