How To: Entering Breakpoints (30-02-04)

Overview

This tutorial describes how to enter breakpoints.

The Breakpoints screen is accessed by selecting ‘Y’ in the ‘Detail Sales Tax’ field of Level 1 Tax and then clicking the ‘Break Points’ button.

Step-by-Step

  1. In the ‘To’ field on the first line, enter the cent value that represents the end of the first breakpoint. For example, if the first breakpoint ends at 10 cents, enter “10” in this field.

  1. In the ‘Is’ field, enter the cent value that will be charged for the corresponding part of the dollar. For example, if the first 10 cents are charged no extra tax, enter “0.”

  1. Repeat Steps 1-2 until all breakpoints are entered.
    NOTE: The value entered in the ‘To’ field must be greater than the value(s) entered on the previous line(s). The value entered in the ‘Is’ field must be greater than or equal to the value(s) entered on the previous line(s).

  1. Click the ‘Done’ button to save the Breakpoints.
    • Click the ‘Abort’ button to close the Breakpoints window without saving.
