How To: Running Data Selection/File Build (24-01-03-01)

Overview

This tutorial describes how to use the Warrantech Data/Selection File Build selection.

NOTE: If you forgot to set up the Dealer Code in Transmission Preferences, you will be prompted to enter it now. This code is provided to you by Warrantech or Centricity.

  1. In the ‘Beginning Date’ and ‘Ending Date’ fields, enter the date range for the report in MMDDYY format.

  1. Specify whether you want to create a registration file for this date range. The registration file contains all items sold without an attached service policy.
    • Remember that the Registration file is not downloaded to your computer or sent to Warrantech/Centricity.
    • If you have run this selection before, the beginning date and ending date of the last file build appears to the right of the field.

  1. Create the Warranty Files by entering “Y” in the ‘Create Warranty File’ field.
    • If you have run this selection before, the beginning date and ending date of the last file build appears to the right of the field.

  1. At the ‘Processing for (W)arrantech or (C)entricity’ prompt:

    Enter “W” to create the Warrantech file.

    Enter “C” to create the Centricity file.

  1. At the ‘Select Printer’ prompt, enter the ID of a physical printer or spooler to print the Data Selection/ File Build report.
