Introduction: Sales Transactions Special Notes and Setup Requirements (02)
Special Notes
- In POS Entry, you can create a ‘three-sided’ transaction. This is a transaction that is entered in one branch, picked up at another branch, and has a third branch indicated as the sold at branch (the branch showing the sale).
- One selection that you should become familiar with is Trans Entry Pre-Prompt (02-18-01). This screen is used to set up your Point of Sale preferences and your Invoice preferences (by entering Y at Preference 8, ‘Invoice Print’). You should take special care when setting up these preferences as they can greatly affect the amount of time it takes to enter a sale.
- Although Inventory Onhand, Committed and Floor Model/Damaged Goods Quantities are updated during POS Entry, some Sales Analysis and Transaction History Files are not updated until the Transaction Update has been run.
- Do not remove transactions from the disk to save disk space unless Direct Mail labels have been printed and/or Commission Reporting has been completed (if needed).
