How To: Adding Warranty Codes (06-02-01)
Overview
This tutorial describes how to add new warranty codes.
Step-by-Step
- Click the ‘Add’ button.
- In the ‘Warranty Code’ field, enter the Warranty Code being added. The field is a maximum of 3 alphanumeric characters.
NOTE: You cannot enter a warranty code which already has been set up.
- In the ‘Description’ field, enter a description for the warranty code. The field is a maximum of 25 alphanumeric characters.
- From the ‘Concurrent’ drop-down list:
- Select ‘Y’ if the warranty coverage runs concurrent (at the same time) with the manufacturer’s warranty. In this case, the warranty expiration dates are calculated from the date sold.
- Select ‘N’ if the warranty coverage begins when the manufacturer’s warranty expires. In this case, the warranty expiration dates are calculated from the date that the manufacturer’s warranty expires. However, if there are no dates in the expiration fields on the customer’s order, the expiration is calculated using the date sold.
- Select ‘M’ if the warranty coverage begins on the date when the merchandise was sold/delivered.
- In the ‘Labor Duration’ field, enter, in months, the length of the labor coverage on the warranty.
- In the ‘Parts Duration’ field, enter, in months, the length of the parts coverage on the warranty.
- In the ‘Other Duration’ field, enter, in months, the length of any other coverage on the warranty.
- Click ‘Add.’
- Repeat steps 2-8 until all warranty codes are added.
- Click ‘Close’ to return to the Warranty Code Maintenance screen.
