Introduction: Business Type Maintenance (12-22)

Overview

This selection is used to create two character Business Type codes, which are used in Master File Maint (12-20, Field 10) to categorize customers. Business Type is also one of the available select options for the Aged Analysis by Selection (12-34) report.

Example Business Types include:

  • CT – Contractors
  • WH – Wholesalers
  • PR – Personal
  • DC – Doctors
  • RT – Retailers
  • BS – Business

Special Notes

  • The following Business Types CANNOT be used:
    • IC (used by Installment Accounts Receivable)
    • DD (used by Transaction Entry and Update)
    • SO (used by Transaction Entry and Update)
    • FL (used by Transaction Entry and Update)
    • RI (used by Transaction Entry and Update)
    • CO (used by Transaction Entry and Update)
    • CL (used by Transaction Entry and Update)
  • The Business/Customer Type selections in A/R Installment (13-22), A/R Revolving (14-22) and Rental (22-22) also use the list of Business Types created in this selection (they all run the same program).
