Step-by-Step
- Access the Scheduler from POS Entry, Order Processing, or Centralized Delivery.
- In the ‘From’ drop-down box in the ‘Order to Schedule’ box, select ‘Order Processing.’
NOTE: When you are accessing the Scheduler from POS Entry or Order Processing, ‘Order Processing’ automatically prompts in this field.
- Enter the Order Number of an order with multiple delivery dates in the ‘Order #’ field.
NOTE: When you are accessing the Scheduler from POS Entry, or Order Processing, the order number automatically appears in this field.
- Click the Search icon to the right of the ‘Order #’ field and a new window opens. Here you can view all delivery dates on the order. To correctly schedule this order, you will need to create a schedule entry for each of these dates.
- You can access this screen any time during the scheduling process.
EXAMPLE: We have four items on an order, each with different delivery dates:
Item
Delivery Date
0400
08/12/04
0401
08/13/04
0402
08/14/04
0403
08/15/04
- Create a schedule entry for the first delivery date by completing Steps 3-13 of the ‘Using the Advanced Scheduler’ tutorial.
Using our example, we are going to schedule delivery for the 08/12/04 delivery date (Item 0400) to Stop 3 on the ‘CPINE1’ route on 08/12/04.
- Create schedule entries for the remaining delivery dates using the same process as described in
Step 5.Using our example, we are going to schedule delivery for the 08/13/04 delivery date (Item 0401) to Stop 1 on the ‘CPINE’ route on 08/13/04. We are also going to schedule delivery for the 08/14/04 delivery date (Item 0402) to Stop 3 on the ‘CPINE1’ route on 08/14/04.
NOTE: For demonstration purposes, we are not going to schedule delivery for the 08/15/04 delivery date (Item 0403) at this time. Normally, you would schedule all items as part of this process.
- If the ‘Auto Exit’ button is checked, the selection will exit. If it is not, click Close to exit the Scheduler.
- If all lines/dates were not scheduled correctly, a window appears with the message: ‘Order has Line(s) with Delivery Date xx/xx/xx with no Schedule for that Date.’ You have the following options:
- Click one of the Existing Scheduler Entries in the table to use that schedule (route, stop, time) for the delivery date that has not been scheduled correctly.
For example, since we did not schedule the 08/15/04 delivery date (Item 0403), we could click ’08/12/04,’ ’08/13/04,’ or ’08/14/04′ to use that schedule for the 08/15/04 delivery date.
- Click the Schedule Later the Lines button and any delivery dates that were not scheduled correctly will be marked as ‘Unscheduled.’ Using our example, 08/15/04 will be marked as Unscheduled (for August 15) and the selection will close.
- Click the Order is Completed button to exit the selection and leave the order as is. With our example, 08/12/04, 08/13/04, and 08/14/04 will remain scheduled, while 08/15/04 will remain without a schedule and will appear on the Exception Report.
- Click the Return to Scheduler button to re-access the Scheduler so that you can schedule 08/15/04 properly.
