Introduction: Route Master Maintenance (21-90-21)
Overview
This selection is used to set up routes for Centralized Delivery.
What is a Route?
In Tyler Centralized Delivery, a route can refer to a number of different things:
- a delivery truck
- an installation/repair crew
- a service bay
- a class
For each route, stops (scheduling slots) are defined, along with the allotted time and volume for each stop, the days that the route is available for work, and the drivers/technicians assigned to complete the work.
Routes are considered either Inside or Outside. For Outside routes, work is performed at the customer’s residence or business. For Inside Routes, work is performed at the store/branch.
Each route is assigned a Route Type, which describes the type of service that is performed by the route.
Route Types
Each route is assigned a Route Type, which describes the type of service that is performed by the route. Some services (e.g. installations, pickups) might be performed by multiple route types.
An Order Processing order or Service work order will be assigned to one of these routes when scheduling delivery/service with the Scheduler.
A Service work order or Order Processing order will be assigned to one of these routes when scheduling delivery/service with the Scheduler.
Special Notes
- Once the route details are set up, you can assign branches, zones/zip codes, and skills to the route. Please see the How To section in this selection for more information.
- You can create more than one entry for the same route. For example, if a delivery truck, service crew, or service bay works different hours on Saturday than they do the rest of the week, you can create a separate route entry for the Saturday hours.
