How To: Printing Barcode Labels by Item/Location (03-38-14-01)

Overview

This tutorial describes how to print the barcode labels by item/location.

  1. In the ‘Enter the Branch Code’ field, enter the locator branch for which labels are being printed.

  1. In the ‘Enter Starting Location’ and ‘Enter Ending Location’ fields, enter location range for the label print. The print will begin with the location entered in the ‘Enter Starting Location’ field and will end with the location entered in the ‘Enter Ending Location’ field.
    • A label will print for each quantity that is onhand for the item.
    NOTE: The starting and ending locations can be one or more characters, with a maximum of six characters. For example, if the entered starting location is ’01’ and the entered ending location is ’03,’ the system will print labels for all locations in the range, starting with locations that have ’01’ as the first two characters of the location, and ending with locations that have ’03’ as the first two characters of the location.

  1. Enter “Y” at the ‘Correct?’ prompt.
    • Enter “N” and the cursor moves to the ‘Enter the Branch Code’ field for modification.

  1. Enter a Printer ID for the labels at the ‘Select Printer’ prompt.

  1. At the ‘Print a Test Pattern’ prompt:
    1. Enter “Y” to print a test pattern. Continue to answer “Y” until the labels are aligned correctly.
    2. Enter “E” to exit without printing any labels.
    3. Enter “N” to begin printing labels.

  1. At the ‘Did the Labels Print Correctly?’ prompt:
    1. Enter “Y” if the labels printed correctly.
    2. Enter “N” if the labels did not print correctly or a jam occurred. The cursor moves to the ‘Select Printer’ prompt.
