How To: Printing the Location Barcode Label (03-38-14-02)
Overview
This selection is used to print locator barcode labels with a label printer (e.g. Datamax) or a printer that has label printing capabilities.
This label contains the location of the merchandise in standard characters. Additionally, the location is printed in barcode using the CODE 128 format.
You can print the locator label on 4×3 inch or 4×6 inch labels.
Step-by-Step
- In the ‘Branch’ field, enter the locator branch for which the labels are being printed.
- At the ‘(1) or (2) Labels’ prompt:
- Enter “1” to print one label for each location.
- Enter “2” to print two labels for each location.
- In the ‘Enter Starting Location’ and ‘Enter Ending Location’ fields, enter location range for the label print. The print will begin with the location entered in the ‘Enter Starting Location’ field and will end with the location entered in the ‘Enter Ending Location’ field.
Press Tab in the ‘Enter Starting Location’ field to begin the print with the first location on file. Press Tab in the ‘Ending Location’ field to end the print with the last location on file.
NOTE: The starting and ending locations can be one or more characters, with a maximum of six characters. For example, if the entered starting location is ’01’ and the entered ending location is ’03,’ the system will print labels for all locations in the range, starting with locations that have ’01’ as the first two characters of the location, and ending with locations that have ’03’ as the first two characters of the location.
- At the ‘Enter Size’ prompt:
- Enter “3” to print on 4×3 inch labels.
- Enter “6” to print on 4×6 inch labels.
- Enter “Y” in the ‘Correct?’ field.
- Specify a Printer ID for the labels.
