How To: Picking Items using the Bulk Picking by Area Method (RF-02-01)

Overview

The following describes how to Bulk Pick items by Area, which is only applicable if the Outbound branch is a locator branch.

  1. Scan the Document Number barcode from the Bulk Picking Sheet (GUI Picking Sheet) or enter it in the ‘Doc’ field.

  1. Scan the Area barcode from the Bulk Picking Sheet or enter it in the ‘Area’ field.

    Items on the transfer appear on the screen. The quantity to pick to fulfill the order, the quantity already picked, the item number, the brand, and a description of the item also display. Also notice that the area, the current location being picked, and the next location to be picked appear at the top of the screen.

  1. Scan items as you pick them from a single location in the warehouse.

    After scanning an item, the ‘Pick’ quantity decreases and the ‘Picked’ quantity increases. Additionally, after picking the required number of any item, the entry is darkened to indicate that picking is complete for that item.

    If there are multiple items to pick from this location, the item that was just picked in full drops to the bottom of the list.

  1. When all items have been picked for the current location (the location can be viewed in the ‘Curr Loc’ field), enter “N” to display items for the next location. Then repeat Step 3.

    If you need to return to the previous location, enter “P.”

  1. When you have picked all items for all locations in the area, the message ‘Area pick complete’ appears under the ‘Item’ field. Enter “X” to move to the next area (if applicable).

  1. Repeat steps 1-5 until you have picked all items in all locations for all areas.

  1. When you are finished, enter “X” to exit the Bulk Picking selection.
