Introduction: Region Maintenance (30-02-01)

Overview

This selection is used to add new regions or modify the details of existing regions. You can also print a hard copy of the screen, if necessary.

General Instructions

When deciding the Region Code for a new region, keep in mind the following:

  • When adding branches to this region, it will greatly reduce confusion if the Region Code (which is used in Transaction Processing and Sales Analysis) and Region Number (which is part of the General Ledger number) are the same.

Example:
Region Code: 01
Region Number: 01

will be easier to maintain than:

Region Code: S
Region Number: 01

  • Region Number is the 3rd and 4th digit of the General Ledger Number. This allows the General Ledger to be split so that the different financial statements can be printed by region.
    REMEMBER: At the present time, up to 50 regions can be set up. If the Region has an inventory branch, the region or branch can only be deleted by Tyler.
