Training Portal: The Details

What’s Already Set Up?
As mentioned, the Tyler Training Portal requires little to no setup. The following are some of the steps we have taken to get you up and running quickly and easily.
Branches
- Three branches are set up: two retail stores and one warehouse
- The warehouse is set as the distribution center for both branches
- For DD/SO tickets, the system is set to reduce inventory from the warehouse (for both branches)
- A locator plan is set up for the warehouse and can be turned on if desired
Industry Specific Setups
Brands, Departments, Product Types, and Extended Warranties are set up for the following industries:
- Appliances
- Electronics
- Furniture
- Music
- Jewelry
- Hearth
- Matresses
Each industry is assigned a specific group of item numbers. For example, Appliances use the ‘1000’ group of item numbers, Electronics use the ‘2000’ group, and Furniture uses the ‘3000’ group. All of this information is detailed in the Training Portal Information Packet.
Please keep in mind that our goal is to make the Training Portal simple to use. The item numbers are not consistent with vendor item numbers that a typical company would normally use.
Licensed Options
- Applications such as Rental, Installment, Revolving, Locator, Activations, etc. are ready to use
Employees
- Employee Master Files are set up and grouped by Job Class
- Federal Tax Tables for 2010 are defined
- Commission Tables for sales personnel are set up
Activations
- Activation plans and their corresponding item numbers are set up
Accounting
- AR and AP Accounts are set up and include Contra Accounting availability
- Common Finance Accounts, such as GE and Wells Fargo, are ready to use
Custom Menu
- If your company prefers that employees see only the applications that are needed, a maintainable Custom Menu is available
Exclusions
The Training Portal does not include access to any third party interface or import/export features of Tyler.

Please note that the above fees only include use of the training portal. They do not include Phone Support, which is available Monday thru Friday (9am-6pm EST) at the normal rates. As always, email is free for simple Q&A, and After Hours Pager Support is available (also at the normal rates).
Portal Information Packet
This document describes, in detail, the information that we have setup for you in the portal. During the setup process, we reviewed the most common settings among our users and then configured the portal accordingly.
Using Your Own Data
If the data that we set up on the Portal does not meet your company needs, the option to have your live data copied to the Training Portal is available for an additional fee. If you choose this option, you will be working with a copy of your company information, not your actual live data. The training portal is currently at the 21.500 release level.
Fees
The following are the minimum charges for using your own data. These can vary based on the data size of your system or the number of custom programs that you have.
