How To: Setting Up Auto Inventory Pricing Preferences (03-34)

Overview

This selection allows easier entry of new inventory items, provided items within a given department or brand keep the same markup ratios. Every department or brand can be set up, identifying the base field and the percentage of markup or markdown from that base for all the other price fields. By entering an item and its base field, all other price fields can be calculated.

NOTE: If the Automatic Special Order Program is licensed, the calculations set here are used by the system for special order items also.

Step-by-Step

Enter “B” if the automatic pricing structure is for a specific brand.

Enter “D” if the automatic pricing structure is for a specific department.

When the Auto-Inventory Pricing and Inquiry screen appears, you can enter “PM” at the ‘Item Number’ field to immediately access the brand or department price structure setup.

If the terminal has been designated as a Point of Sale terminal in System File Management (30-01), only item numbers already on file can be accessed. Fields 13 and 14 do not display and the auto pricing preference option (‘PM’) cannot be used.
