How To: Setting Up Payroll Draw Preferences (10-90-01)

Overview

This selection is used to enter DRAW preferences for Payroll.

Accumulate under-earned draw amount?
(Y/N)

If Y, when an employee’s commissions, spiffs, and other miscellaneous earnings (based on preferences) are not sufficient to cover previous draw amounts, the system will retain the excess draw amount to be added to future draws until the next time commissions, spiffs, and other miscellaneous earnings are calculated.

If N, the under-earned amount is disregarded. It is not carried over to the next pay period.

Ignore draw amount when commissions have been earned?
(Y/N)

Enter Y and the employee receives the amount of their commissions/spiffs only. Only if there is no (zero) commission for that pay period will they receive the draw.

Enter N and if the commissions/spiffs are less than the draw amount, the employee receives the full draw amount.

Calculate draw amount on all miscellaneous earnings?
(Y/N)

If Y. Payroll Calculation uses CME, SPE, and all other miscellaneous earnings codes to calculate the amount of draw earnings or pay back.

If N, draw amount calculations use the codes of SPE (spiffs) and CME (commissions) only.
