Quantity from Multiple Locations
(Split Quantity)

You can only assign one locator number to a single detail line. However, at some point you might need to take items from multiple locations to satisfy the quantity ordered by a customer.

For example, a customer orders 3 HDMI cables, of which your company has 3 available. There is a quantity of 2 at one location and a quantity of 1 at another location. To satisfy the order, you will need to pull items from both locations.

In order to assign two locations to the same item, you will need to split the item among multiple detail lines. In this example, we would have one detail line for the HDMI cable with a quantity of 1, and another detail line for the HDMI cable with a quantity of 2. This is known as splitting the quantities.

The following steps describe how to complete this process.
