How To: Adding an On the Fly Package (Split Sale) to an Order (02-08-02)

Overview

This tutorial describes how to add a package (on the fly) to an existing order using Order Maintenance.

Step-by-Step

Scenario: A customer wants to add some items to an existing Delayed Delivery order. You offer these items to the customer at a discounted price.

  1. Access an order and lock it using the steps described in the ‘Adding a Line to an Order’ tutorial.

  1. On the Detail tab, click the Split Pricing button.

  1. The Split Pricing entry box appears at the top of the screen. In the Package Total field, enter the amount for the entire package.

  1. Press Enter or click the Add Line button and the Line Maintenance box appears.

  1. In the Item Number field, enter the first item for the package.
    • You can include Non-Inventory Product Type items if necessary.

  1. Then enter the quantity being ordered in the Ordered field.

  1. Enter any remaining information for the item and press Enter.

  1. The item appears in the Split Pricing box at the top of the screen and the cursor moves to the Item Number field on the Line Maintenance window for entry of additional package items.

  1. Repeat steps 5-7 for all items you are adding to the package.

  1. When you are finished adding items, click the Close button at the bottom of the Line Maintenance box.

  1. All items included in the package appear in the Split Pricing box at the top of the screen.
    • To add another item to the package, click Add line and repeat steps 10-12.
    • To delete a line from the package, click the item to delete (in the Split Pricing box), and then click the Delete button when the Line Maintenance box appears.

  1. When you finish creating the package, click the Close button.

  1. The package items appear on the detail tab.

  1. Now take a look at the ‘S’ column. The items with ‘1’ next to them are part of the package you just created. Note that any subsequent packages that you create will increment this number by one (‘2’ for the next package, then ‘3’, etc.). If you click on any of the package items, the Split Pricing box reappears to allow modification of the package.
