Introduction: Item Supply by Branch Inquiry (02-08-22-03)
Overview
This selection is used to view/print information on how the system is meeting demand for a particular item on order.
If the Automatic Special Order feature is licensed and activated on your system (‘Auto Interface To P/O’ preference is set to Y in Trans Entry Pre-Prompt (02-18-01)), and the quantity on hand is insufficient, the system automatically determines whether the needed inventory should be transferred from the stock distribution center, attached to an existing purchase order, or added to a new purchase order.

How Tyler Meets Stock Demand
The system attempts to meet demand using the following process:
- The system looks at the inventory onhand at the pickup branch. If the onhand is sufficient, the ordered item(s) are satisfied from the pickup branch inventory.
- If the inventory onhand at the pickup branch is insufficient, the system examines the inventory onhand at the stock distribution center.
If there is enough onhand at the stock distribution center, the system looks for an open transfer containing the item:
- If it finds one, the order line is attached to the transfer.
- If it does not find one, the system will satisfy demand for the item on a future transfer from the stock distribution center.
- If the inventory onhand at the stock distribution center does not satisfy the quantity ordered, the system looks at unattached purchase orders that will be received at the pickup location. If it finds one, the order line is attached to the purchase order.
- If the inventory cannot be satisfied from unattached purchase orders at the pickup location, the system looks for unattached purchase orders that will be received at the stock distribution center. If it finds one, the order line is attached to the purchase order.
- If demand is not satisfied by unattached purchase orders at the distribution center, a Purchase Order Request is created. The Purchase Order can be created automatically from the request by running the Auto Build of P/O’s selection (04-54-03).
Special Notes
- The Supply quantity that is display on the screen are calculated in the following manner:
Supply = Quantity on hand – Quantity Committed – Quantity Damaged – Floor Model Quantity – Outbound Transfer Quantity + Quantity to Order + Inbound Transfer Quantity + Quantity Attached to P/O’s
- The Supply quantity should never be negative. The system will create a purchase order request when the quantity in the supply chain (onhand, transfers, purchase orders) does not cover the quantity committed.
- “Shipped line” displays when the customer order has been shipped before a transfer or purchase order, which includes the needed item, has been received. For example, the needed item is received on a P/O and immediately picked up by the customer before P/O Receiving is updated. “Shipped line” will also display if a needed item is shipped on a customer order other than the original order for which the quantity on hand was allocated. In either of the above situations, the next time the needed item is received on a P/O or transferred to the branch, the “Shipped lines” will be filled first.
