How To: Sale Pending Method 2 – Adding/Linking WO Lines to the DD Ticket
Overview
This tutorial describes how to add all lines from the work order to the corresponding DD transaction when using Sale Pending Work Orders Method 2. This can be done during the job process to update to A/R or when the job is completed.
Step-by-Step
- Click the Maintain Linkage button on the Other tab of the Parts and Labor screen.
- The upper box shows all current items on the DD transaction (which is linked to this work order). The lower box shows all items currently on the work order. To add a part or labor line to the DD order, click the item line in the lower box.
- A prompt appears asking if you want to add the item to the customer order detail. Click Yes.
- The item appears in the upper box and if you open the DD in Order Maintenance, you can confirm that the item has been added to the order. ‘Linked’ appears in the leftmost column of the upper box, meaning that you cannot ship this item (in Order Processing) until the work order is updated. Additionally, the Balance Due on the order is recalculated accordingly.
To remove this link, click on the item in the upper box and then click ‘Unlink’ at the prompt. The item will remain on the DD, but will no longer be linked to the item on the work order (and is able to be shipped).
- If you click Remove here, the item is deleted from the work order, but remains as on the DD as an unlinked item.
- Repeat steps 2-4 until all lines on the work order are added to the DD transaction.
- You can continue to add interface items to the DD ticket through Order Maintenance and then move the work order lines (from separate work orders)to the DD as the jobs are completed. This process might be repeated for an extended period of time for long jobs. Additional charges will recalculate on the DD.
- Click the Finish tab and then the Finish and Finalize button.
- Click Ok at the prompt, which shows the Completion Date and Unit Location.
