How To: Running the Sales by Zip Code/State/City Report (05-41-10)

Overview

This selection creates a report showing sales, by zip code, city, or state, for a specified date range. You can view the information on the screen or download the report to your computer.

Special Notes

  • You can sort a column by clicking on the Column Heading.
  • You can move a column by clicking on the Column Heading and dragging to the desired location.

Step-by-Step

  1. From the ‘Region’ drop-down menu, select a region for the report. Select ‘All’ to include data from all regions on the report.
    NOTE: If territories and/or markets are set up in 30-02-06, you can select one from this list instead of selecting a region. If you set up branch groups in the Branch Grouping selection (05-90-02), they also appear in this list and can be used for the report.

  1. From the ‘Store’ drop-down menu, select a store for the report. Select ‘All’ to include data from all stores on the report.

  1. From the ‘Dept’ drop-down menu, select a department for the report. Select ‘All’ to include data from all departments on the report.

  1. In the ‘From’ and ‘To’ fields, enter a date range for the report or select it from the calendar.

  1. In the ‘Sales’ section, specify whether the report should include Written or Delivered Sales.

  1. In the ‘Zip From’ section, specify whether the report should include the Bill To information, Ship To information, or both.
    NOTE: The Ship To information will only display if it is different from the Bill To information.

  1. In the ‘Service Branches’ section, select ‘Include’ to include service branches in the report, ‘Exclude’ to exclude service branches, or ‘Only’ to only include service branches.

  1. In the ‘Report By’ section, specify whether the report should be organized by ‘Zip Code,’ ‘State,’ or ‘City.’

  1. Click Refresh.
    • Any time you change the report criteria, you will need to click Refresh to update the report results.

  1. The zip codes and the corresponding totals for the entered criteria appear.

  1. Click on a line and a new window opens, displaying the transaction details for sales in that zip code/state/city. From this window, you can print the details to a laser printer or PDF file.

  1. Click Export to download the report to your computer (optional). Accept the pre-prompted save location, or enter a new one. Then click Ok.
    IMPORTANT: Since the exported file is tab delimited, save it with a ‘.txt’ extension.
