How To: Running the GUI Tax Report (02-43-03)
Overview
This selection is used to view a breakdown of tax codes for sales tax and non-taxable sales reporting.
Step-by-Step
- Specify the date range to run the report by:
- Click the ‘Monthly’ radio button to view the report for a specific month. Enter the month and year for the report in MMYY format in the ‘Month/Year’ field.
- Click the ‘Quarterly’ radio button to view the report for a specific quarter. Enter the last month of the quarter (March, June, September, or December) and the year in MMYY format in the ‘Month/Year’ field.
NOTE: The last month in the quarter will be the same whether you follow a calendar or fiscal year.
- Click the ‘Yearly’ radio button to view the report for a specific year. Enter the month of December and the year for the report in MMYY format in the ‘Month/Year’ field.
NOTE: Selecting the month of December is recommended so that each month of the year is included in the report. If you enter another month, for example April, the report will only display data for April and the preceding months in that year. This will be the same whether if you follow a calendar or fiscal year.
- Click the ‘Range/Dates’ radio button to enter a specific date range to view the report in. In the ‘From’ and ‘To’ fields, enter a date range or select it from the calendar.
- In the ‘Non-Taxable Report’ section:
- Click the ‘By Branch’ radio button to sort the Non-Taxable tab by branch.
- Click the ‘By TaxCode’ radio button to sort the Non-Taxable tab by tax code.
- Click the ‘By Dept’ radio button to sort the Non-Taxable tab by department.
- Click the ‘By PType’ radio button to sort the Non-Taxable tab by product type.
- Select ‘Detail’ to display the Non-Taxable tab in detail form. Select ‘Summary’ to view the tab in summary form.
- Click ‘Refresh’ and the report results appear.
- Click the By Branch, By Tax Code, Non-Taxable, Rental/Brch, or Rental/TaxCd tab to view the tax information broken down by branch, tax code, non-taxable, rental by branch, or rental by tax code, respectively.
NOTE: The rental tabs are only visible for clients who utilize the licensed Rental Program.
- Click the ‘Print’ button to print a paper copy of the report (optional). At the prompt, enter the ID of a physical printer, or enter “PDF” to save the report to a PDF file. If printing to a PDF, accept or modify the file name and click ‘Ok.’
IMPORTANT: When printing to PDF, you must have a ‘Transaction Processing’ folder specified in Company PDF/Export Directory (30-04) or By Term PDF/Export Directory (30-05) in order for the PDF to save successfully to your computer.
- Click ‘Export’ to open the report directly in Excel (and also save it to your computer).
IMPORTANT: You must have a ‘Transaction Processing’ folder specified in Company PDF/Export Directory (30-04) or By Term PDF/Export Directory (30-05) in order for the report to open correctly in Excel and be saved to your computer.
