Introduction: Sales Tax Report (02-43-01)

Overview

This report prints a breakdown of all sales tax codes for each branch. It should be printed at the end of each month for sales tax and non-taxable sales reporting. When taxable exceptions exist for departments within a tax code, the exceptions print below the specific tax code for the branch.

You can run this report as many times as needed for the same month. It can be run at any point during the month to view preliminary figures, but it must be run at the end of the month to get the final sales totals.

Branch totals for each column print below each branch. These totals only include Level One Non-Exception tax codes.

The ‘Tax Collected’ column shows the sum of all transaction tax amounts for each tax code. The ‘Tax Due’ column prints to the right of the ‘Tax Collected’ column and includes all taxable dollars from all levels and all exceptions.

The Summary Report by Taxcode/Level/Branch is used to find totals for Non-Level One Tax Codes and exceptions. This report is printed after the Branch/Taxcode detail report. The summary report shows a breakdown of the sales and tax amounts by Taxcode, Level, and Branch. A total line for the Taxcode and Level also prints. Additionally, you can create a spreadsheet file of the Summary Report and download it to your computer.

A Sales Tax Report can be printed for a prior month, provided that the Sales Transactions for the entered month and year are in the Sales Transaction Files. After this report has been printed, an additional report is printed for all non-taxable sales. This report lists the Date, Invoice Number and Sale Amount for the non-taxable sales along with the total number of invoices and the total Sale Amount.
